International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics

International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics

The International Journal of Occupational Safety and Ergonomics (JOSE) is a refereed interdisciplinary quarterly journal. Published since 1995, its paramount aim has always been to create a platform for presenting results of research in ergonomics and workplace health promotion relevant for the diverse, yet increasingly globalizing world. Whereas social and economic problems and researchers’ modus operandi in various countries and climates are similar, legislation, safety and management culture are not. We are interested in showing how the same problems are studied and solved in different parts of the world and how the same methods can produce different results. Comparing those problems and views, in their diversity, helps perceive them in a wider context, in a global perspective.

Our mission involves both looking at each problem in its cultural, social and economic contexts and approaching it from the broad perspective of various fields. Greater awareness follows, with authors able to connect with fellow researchers in other fields, who work on the same problems.

Even though the principal objective of JOSE is to publish research, we do not perceive this aim as limited to significant original contributions to knowledge; we are also interested in contributions that prove well-known solutions can be used in practice. Everything that can make work easier and workplace health better is worthy of dissemination.

Subjects covered by this journal include: Accidents, Acoustical Engineering, Aerosol Science, Automation, Biological Hazards, Biomechanics, Chemical Hazards, Computer Modelling, Ergonomics, Ergonomics & Human Factors, Health Management, Industrial Design, Occupational & Environmental Mechanical Hazards, Medicine, Microclimate, Physiology, Multidisciplinary Psychology, Protective Equipment, Risk Assessment, Safety of Machinery, Sociology & Social Policy, Testing, Health & Safety at Work and Work-Design – Ergonomics.

International Journal of Product Lifecycle Management

International Journal of Product Lifecycle Management

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is generally defined as a strategic business approach for the effective management and use of corporate intellectual capital. Today, challenges faced by product development teams include globalisation, outsourcing, mass customisation, fast innovation and product traceability. These challenges enhance the need for collaborating environments and knowledge management along the product lifecycle stages. PLM systems are gaining acceptance for managing all information about the corporation’s products throughout their full lifecycle, from conceptualisation to operations and disposal. The PLM philosophy and systems aim at providing support to an even broader range of engineering and business activities. (source)

Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring

Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring

The Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring (JCSHM) publishes articles to advance the understanding and the application of health monitoring methods for the condition assessment and management of civil infrastructure systems.
JCSHM serves as a focal point for sharing knowledge and experience in technologies impacting the discipline of Civionics and Civil Structural Health Monitoring, especially in terms of load capacity ratings and service life estimation.
Original articles to further the state-of-the-art in diagnostics and prognostics for civil infrastructure systems including highways, bridges, buildings, airports, seaports, railroads, water resources systems, oil and gas pipelines, and similar topics are welcomed.
There is an important role for papers that address the application of principles, either successfully or from a lesson learned aspect. This is of course the key facet of engineering as opposed to basic science — engineers take ideas and develop them into applications and use in the field. (source)
