On of the applications of the mode is in traffic data. If you are interested in avoiding the busiest hour at a restaurant or an intersection, make sure you are not where the mode(s) is/are. For example, Google gives you the traffic data by time for businesses and people do try to avoid the mode whenever it is feasible.
