In engineering and maintenance since 1974, Mike’s career extends across original equipment manufacturing, beverage processing and packaging, steel fabrication, chemical processing and manufacturing, quality management, project management, enterprise asset management, plant and equipment maintenance, and maintenance training. His specialty is helping companies build highly effective operational risk management processes, develop enterprise asset management systems for ultra-high reliable assets, and instil the precision maintenance skills needed for world class equipment reliability.

He is a reputed author of numerous online technical white papers and training materials that are widely sought after by maintenance professionals. He has written extensively on topics related to industrial maintenance management, plant and equipment reliability, and life cycle asset management systems and processes. Including authoring two books and developing the UPTIME training series for chemical and process plants available through Feed Forward Publications.  His first book, Plant and Equipment Wellness, was published by Engineers Australia Books. His second book, Industrial and Manufacturing Wellness, was published by Industrial Press.

He is a consultant and trainer in Life Cycle Asset Management, Maintenance Management, Work Management Systems, and operating asset reliability improvement. He held lecturing positions at Curtin University (Western Australia) in Quality Management Systems and Manufacturing Management Systems. As a maintenance manager, Mike successfully initiated and built EAM and maintenance systems, and introduced operations to reliability and maintenance techniques focused on maximizing equipment uptime, including vibration analysis, lubricant analysis, thermography, equipment criticality analysis, root cause failure analysis, and performance monitoring. He is a qualified mechanical tradesman and an approved internal quality system auditor. His professional qualifications include B Eng (Hons), MBA, and Chartered Professional Engineer.
